Cardiology
The VTH's cardiology service focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The service is offered to patients undergoing a first cardiological evaluation or that have been referred for a second opinion.
In order to detect any change in the heart's electrical/mechanical activity and identify potential treatment, patients may undergo standard ECG, chest X-ray, ecocardiography (2D, M-mode, Doppler).
Furthermore, the Cardiology unit provides the following services: Holter ECG and cardiological evaluations for breed screening to detect and prevent the transmission of inherited heart diseases, as well as preoperative cardiological evaluation.

To set up an appointment, please call the hospital's reception desk at +39 049 827 2608. The receptionist will get you in contact with the veterinarian responsible for the service.
Opening hours
Cardiology services are available Monday through Friday, 8.30 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.
All VTH activities are particularly relevant for veterinary teaching. In this regard, it shall be noted that fourth- and fifth-year students of the single cycle degree course in veterinary medicine may be present as teachers and other veterinarians perform clinical activities.
