Clinical nutrition

Clinical nutrition services are available to pet owners who seek nutritional advice for their dogs or cats, as well as veterinarians who need to adapt the diet of their patients to various physiological and pathological conditions.

The unit's services include:

  • Evaluation of maintenance and dietary feed, including feed rationing
  • Creation of eating plans and mixed dietary plans for healthy patients or patients affected by diseases
  • Evaluation of feed supplements
  • Nutritional support to hospitalized patients
  • Dietary plans
  • Feeding of growing puppies and kittens
  • Cat and dog nutrition counseling

The Head of the Clinical nutrition unit is Prof. Rebecca Ricci, who works alongside Dr. Davide Stefanutti.

Setting up an appointment
An appointment is required to access clinical nutrition services. Please call the hospital's reception desk at +39 049 827 2608. The receptionist will get you in contact with the veterinarian responsible for the service. You may also set up an appointment by writing an e-mail to nutrizione.ovud@unipd.it .

Opening hours
Clinical nutrition services are available Monday through Friday, 9.00 a.m. - 5.00 p.m.

All VTH activities are particularly relevant for veterinary teaching. In this regard, it shall be noted that fourth- and fifth-year students of the single cycle degree course in veterinary medicine may be present as teachers and other veterinarians perform clinical activities.
