Internal medicine

The VTH's Internal medicine unit is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases requiring a medical approach. Veterinarians of the unit provide specialist consultations to self-employed veterinary professionals who seek a second opinion, as well as owners whose pet needs a specialist examination.

Services offered include gastroenterology, nephrology, urology, endocrinology and small animal onclogy.
In addition to more traditional medical services, such as vaccinations and blood sampling, other services include:

  • internist and oncology examinations
  • abdominal echography
  • video endoscopy (respiratory and gastro-intestinal tracts)
  • glucose tolerance test

Internal medicine services are available Monday through Friday, 8.30 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.

Setting up an appointment
An appointment is required to access internal medicine services. Please call the hospital's reception desk at +39 049 827 2608.
The receptionist will get you in contact with the veterinarian responsible for the service.

All VTH activities are particularly relevant for veterinary teaching. In this regard, it shall be noted that fourth- and fifth-year students of the single cycle degree course in veterinary medicine may be present as teachers and other veterinarians perform clinical activities.
