Ruminants
The Ruminant unit provides the following services: advisory services, preventive medicine, reproductive medicine, internal medicine and rearing of cattle, sheep, goats and camelids.
Ruminant services are provided both at the VTH and at farms through the mobile clinic.
The mobile clinic is equipped with specific tools that allow veterinarians to carry out on-site visits and perform ultrasound and/or collect biological samples for submission to the diagnostic laboratory.
Clinical activities performed by unit’s staff concern the health and reproductive management of ruminants, as well the carrying out of specialist diagnostic investigations on metabolic and nutritional diseases. Clinical services and technical-scientific advice are provided to livestock holdings upon request of the farm's veterinarian.

Opening hours
The Ruminant services is available Monday through Friday, 8.30 a.m. - 6.00 p.m.
All VTH activities are particularly relevant for veterinary teaching. In this regard, it shall be noted that fourth- and fifth-year students of the single cycle degree course in veterinary medicine may be present as teachers and other veterinarians perform clinical activities.
